Titans Capture Eagles (2-27-17)
The UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball team received 10 kills from Brandon Schmidt (Gr. - Kaukauna) and hit .388 on 39 kills as a team to capture a 25-15, 25-18, 25-22 sweep over Wisconsin Volleyball Conference foe UW-La Crosse on Sunday (Feb. 26) in La Crosse.

UW-Oshkosh (13-1 / 2-1 WVC), currently ranked #1 in the latest National Collegiate Volleyball Federation Division I poll, also got nine kills from Peter Nordel (Sr. - Torrence, Calif.) and six from Devin Hudson (So. - Wauwatosa) in the victory.

Travis Hudson (Sr. - Wauwatosa) dished out 29 assists and had a match high four service aces, Jake Martin (So. - New Lenox, Ill.) added nine digs and Nordel provided three blocks for the Titans.

UW-Oshkosh and UW-La Crosse were tied at 9-9 in the first set before the Titans pulled away. Down 7-2 in set two, UW-Oshkosh battled back to knot the score at 11-11 before ending the stanza on a 14-7 scoring run. The third set was close before the Titans inched out to a 20-15 lead and then held on for the three-point win.

"We passed pretty well today, especially Sammy Pedersen (Sr. - Muskego) and Jake Martin," said head coach Brian Schaefer. "We have a new group on the court and getting playing time together is key for us to be ready for our big tournaments in the future."
