UW-Oshkosh III Starts WVC Division II Slate 3-1 (2-26-17)
The UW-Oshkosh III men's volleyball team swept three opponents before losing to the UW-Oshkosh II team to start Wisconsin Volleyball Conference Division II action with a 3-1 conference record after play held Saturday (Feb. 25) in Oshkosh. The Titans improve to 10-7 on the season overall.
UW-Oshkosh III defeated Carroll University 25-22, 25-20, UW-Stevens Point 25-23, 25-16, UW-Whitewater II 25-14, 25-17 and then fell to UW-Oshkosh III 25-19, 25-19.
Joey Mack (So. - Muskego) and Andrew Shea (Sr. - Brookfield) each had seven kills to pace the Titans offensively against the Pioneers. Matt Pedersen (So. - Muskego) provided 25 assists and six blocks, Quinn Arndt (Fr. - Muskego) scooped up a career-high 15 digs and Steven Seaman (Fr. - Muskego) had six kills. Reed Bogrand (Fr. - Mukwonago) and Steve Cotton (Sr. - Muskego) each had three blocks to help the front line of defense for the Titans.
Bogrand led the Titans with six kills and added one solo block in the two-set win over UW-Stevens Point. Cotton provided a career-high and team season leading eight service aces; while adding six kills and Arndt led the team with five digs. Pedersen set the pace with 17 assists.
Shea led UW-Oshkosh with nine kills and Quinn provided a team best 10 digs against the Warhawks. Pedersen dialed up 18 assists and Cotton had six kills and two blocks.
Seaman had eight kills,four digs and two blocks and Shea and Mack had six kills versus UW-Oshkosh II. Pedersen amassed 25 assists, Arndt scooped up six digs and Cotton finished with five kills.
