Martin Highlights UW-Oshkosh All-Conference Awards (4-9-18)
Jake Martin (Jr. – New Lenox, Ill.) highlighted UW-Oshkosh’s Wisconsin Volleyball Conference all-conference awards that were announced at the WVC State Championship on Saturday (April 7) in Menomonee Falls.
Martin was named the league’s Libero of the Year as well as All-WVC first team. Both honors were Martin’s first of his career. Brandon Schmidt (Gr. – Kaukauna) took home his third straight All-WVC first team selection and Peter Nordel (Sr. – Torrance, Calif.) was named a first team honoree for the second consecutive season.
Nick Davies (So. – Waukesha) and Sammy Pedersen (Sr. – Muskego) were both named to the All-WVC honorable mention team. Both awards were the first of their career in the Division I Wisconsin Volleyball Conference.
The Titans won the WVC regular season championship for the tenth consecutive season with a 9-2 record. At the WVC State Championship the Titans did not lose a set in capturing their 12th overall title and third in the past four years.
