Danny Kingstad and Tyler Range Commit to UW-Oshkosh (4-18-12)
The UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball team is pleased to announce that two middle blockers have decided to continue their playing career in a Titans uniform. Danny Kingstad from Franklin High School and Tyler Range from Kenosha Tremper High School announced that they will attend UW-Oshkosh in the fall of 2012.
Danny Kingstad played for Chris Dibb for the Sabers in the Southeast Conference. He was named first-team all-conference his senior year after leading the state in block assists. He earned three varsity letters in volleyball and was a member of the varsity basketball for two years.
Kingstad plays for North Shore Volleyball Club for head coach Brad Kuehl. He is the son of David and Karin Kingstad and will study radio/TV/film and journalism.
"I chose UW-Oshkosh because of its outstanding radio/TV/film program, as well as its exceptional club volleyball program," said Kingstad when asked why he chose UW-Oshkosh.
Tyler Range will come to UW-Oshkosh after playing for head coach Curtis Madson for the Trojans in the Southeast Conference. He helped his team win the regular season conference title as well as the SEC tournament championship. He was also named to the SEC honorable mention team.
Range played for Southport Volleyball Club under the guidance of Kyle Klaver and is the son of Lisa and Harold Range. He will study psychology at UW-Oshkosh.
When asked why he decided to attend UW-Oshkosh, Range commented, "I have seen the results on how successful their volleyball team has been and when I was the offered the opportunity to be on the team there was no way I could turn it down."
"UW-Oshkosh has always had very talented middle blockers and bringing in both Danny and Tyler will help keep that tradition alive," said head coach Brian Schaefer. "They are both 6-6, athletic and have unlimited potential. They have the ability to hit anywhere along the net and we are pleased they are bringing their talent to UW-Oshkosh."
