Titans Punish Pioneers (2-15-08)
The UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball team won its eighth consecutive match with a convincing 30-22, 30-18, 30-25 victory over UW-Platteville in a Wisconsin Volleyball Conference match held on Friday (Feb. 15) in Platteville.
The middle blocking duo of Dan Ruys (Fr. • Appleton) and Danny Hessling (Jr. • Greenfield) led UW-Oshkosh (16-1/4-0) by combining for 23 kills on 32 attempts. Ruys finished with 13 kills on 17 attempts, including a perfect six for six in game three, and Hessling chipped in 10 kills on 15 attempts.
Tyler Boddy (Fr. • New Ulm, Minn.) finished with 10 digs and seven kills and Aaron Wayne (Sr. • New Berlin) tallied eight digs. Andy Schinner (Fr. • Mequon) finished with 22 assists and Brandon Kirkland (Sr. • Racine) tallied 18 helpers, Eric Waite (So. • Madison) led the team with three service aces and Nate Sederberg (Sr. • Racine) added eight kills, five digs and two solo blocks.
