Oshkosh II Finishes 9th in Hoosier Illini Classic (2-24-08)
Oshkosh II entered the 34 team Hoosier Illini Classic tournament as the 31st seed and came out tied for 9th.
Due to an unfortunate accident, the University of Pittsburgh team had to pull out at the last minute, which left Oshkosh II in a 3 team pool. In their first match, Oshkosh pulled off a big upset by defeating Division I #6 Utah Valley State 28-26, 23-25, 25-18. They followed that up with a sweep over the University of Cincinnati, to win their pool and guarantee them a spot in the Gold bracket. In the cross-over match, they lost to #11 University of Central Florida, which dropped them down to a lower seed for Sunday's play.
On Sunday, they had to face #22 Michigan State University. Oshkosh II held a lead for most of the match against MSU, but couldn't hold on to finish a game, losing 19-25, 21-25.
