Titans Dominate Golden Eagles (2-11-10)
The UW-Oshkosh completed its most dominating victory over Marquette University in team history with a 25-11, 25-14, 25-10 thrashing over the Golden Eagles on Thursday (Feb. 11) in Milwaukee.
In a match that only took 42 minutes, the Titans committed only five hitting errors and relied on uncharacteristically missed serves by the Golden Eagles for the easy win. The only negative on the night for UW-Oshkosh were 15 missed serves, which accounted for 43 percent of the Golden Eagles points.
Statically, six UW-Oshkosh players recorded at least two blocks, led by Tyler Boddy (Jr. • New Ulm) who tallied four. Nate Sederberg (Sr. • Racine), Danny Hessling (Sr. • Greenfield) and Dan Ruys (Jr. • Kimberly) each had three.
Sederberg added 17 assists, four digs and three service aces, Aaron Wayne (Sr. • New Berlin) four digs and two service aces and Andy Schinner (Jr. • Mequon) 11 assists. Boddy topped the team with seven kills on eight attempts and Zach Johnson (Fr. • Homestead) had six kills on six attempts, all in the third set.
For the match, UW-Oshkosh recorded 12 service aces, 12.5 blocks and hit a mind-numbing .659 on 34 kills.
