Oshkosh II Wins MIVA Regular Season Crown (2-22-10)
The UW-Oshkosh II men's volleyball team finished off the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Division II regular season with a 10-0 mark after going 5-0, all in two set sweeps on Saturday (Feb. 20) in East Lansing, Michigan.

UW-Oshkosh II (24-0) remained undefeated on the season with wins over Oakland University (Mich.), 25-12, 25-8, Illinois State University II, 25-19, 25-16, Wittenberg University (Ohio), 25-5, 25-14, The Ohio State University, 25-18, 25-18 and Indiana University II, 25-20, 25-13.

The victory marks the first time that UW-Oshkosh II has won the MIVA regular season Division II title and will give the Titans the number one seed at the MIVA championship held Saturday and Sunday (March 27-28) in Oshkosh.

Nick Mueller (Fr. - Kenosha) carried the offensive load all day, starting with ten kills in the opening match against Oakland University. Greg Lulich (Sr. - Ashland) added four service aces and five digs, Parker Gross (So. - Appleton) added seven kills and four blocks and Bob Hall (Fr. - Appleton) had 14 assists.

To start the match, Mueller had eight straight kills as the Titans had 25 kills on 40 attempts for a .600 hitting percentage.

Against Illinois State University II Jordan Mattingly (Jr. - Kaukauna) took his turn to lead the team as he recorded 10 kills and three blocks. Bob Hall provided 20 assists and Jim Hall (Sr. - Appleton) totaled five digs. Gross and Gus Odorizzi (Jr. - Kenosha) each has three blocks and Bob Hall and Mueller tacked on two service aces.

Wittenberg University had little answers for the Titans as they rolled to a 20-point win in the first set. The Titans had 15 kills on only 18 attempts for a .787 hitting percentage to get the ball going in the first stanza.

Luke Coyle (So. - Wauwatosa), Matt Maciejewski (So. - Greenfield) and Mueller each has seven kills, Domenic Judkins (Fr. - Kaukauna) added six and David Mills (Jr. - Evansville) four as the Titans offense had 27 kills in the match.

Chris Schinner (Sr. - Mequon) sparked the offense with 12 assists, Coyle gathered three service aces and Mattingly had three blocks. Odorizzi had a career-high six assists.

Mueller reached double-digit kills with 10 against The Ohio State University II. Jordan Mattingly added eight kills and four digs, Bob Hall 24 assists and Odorizzi four blocks.

In the last match of the day, Indiana University II had suffered only one loss previously in conference and was trying to produce a three-way tie with the University of Illinois II for first-place. The Titans were not going to be denied as Mueller had 11 kills and four service aces.

Bob Hall had 22 assists, Jim Hall five digs and Maciejewski and Odorizzi two blocks and six kills each.
