UW-Oshkosh Travels to Illinois to Beat Wheaton College in 3 (3-28-15)
The UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball team swept its 11th straight Wisconsin Volleyball Conference opponent on Friday (March 27) when they beat host Wheaton College, 25-20, 25-20, 25-19 in Wheaton, Illinois.
With the win, UW-Oshkosh inches closer to its seventh straight WVC regular season title by taking a two match lead in the standings. The Titans, who are ranked #3 in the latest National Collegiate Volleyball Federation poll improved to 33-0 in sets played this season in the WVC.
UW-Oshkosh (37-2) was led by Allen Grunert (So. - Muskego) who paced the Titans with 13 kills on 22 attempts. Michael Starzec (Jr. - Buffalo Grove, Ill.) added a team-leading seven blocks and added five kills. Travis Hudson (Jr. - Wauwatosa) dished out 25 assists and had nine digs and seven kills. Tyler Wiedenhoeft (Sr. - Mequon) scooped up 11 digs and Wesley Morioka (Jr. - Chicago, Ill.) finished with five blocks.
