UW-Oshkosh Dominates WVC All-Conference Team (4-7-15)
The UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball team ran the table in the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference and was rewarded heavily as six members of the team were named to the WVC all-conference team announced by the league on Friday (April 3) in La Crosse.
Travis Hudson (Jr. - Wauwatosa) led the Titan award winners by being named to the first team for the third consecutive season. Previously he was also named the 2013 WVC Newcomer of the Year and last year shared the conference's most valuable player award with UW-La Crosse's John Jablonowski. Jablonowski won this year's most valuable player award.
Winning their second consecutive first team honor were Jake Ahnert (Sr. - Burlington), Wesley Morioka (Jr. - Chicago, Ill.) and Tyler Range (Jr. - Kenosha). Finishing out the all-conference award winners were Allen Grunert (So. - Muskego) and Tyler Wiedenhoeft (Sr. - Mequon) who were named first team and honorable mention, respectively. It was the first varsity all-conference award for both Grunert and Wiedenhoeft.
For the season Hudson led the WVC in assists per set, Ahnert led the WVC in hitting percentage and Range led the league in blocks per set. It was the second straight year both Hudson and Range led the conference in those statistical categories. Hudson picked up his first assist per set away when he led the league this season.
UW-Oshkosh won its seventh consecutive regular season Wisconsin Volleyball Conference title by going 16-0 and set a team and conference record by not dropping a set all season in league action. The Titans also went on to win its 10th WVC State Championship.
