Samuel Nelson Chooses UW-Oshkosh (4-25-15)
Samuel Nelson, a 6-6 middle blocker from Luck, Wisconsin has decided to attend UW-Oshkosh and compete on the men's volleyball team announced head coach Brian Schaefer.
Nelson competes for Minnesota Premier Volleyball Club under the direction of T.J. Calhan. Luck High School doesn't field a high school boys volleyball team. Nelson was a member of the football and basketball team and is currently playing baseball for the Cardinals in the Lakeland Conference.
Nelson is the son of Al and Jen Nelson and plays on majoring in business at UW-Oshkosh.
"I love the feel of the campus and the Oshkosh community," said Nelson when asked why he chose UW-Oshkosh. "They have a very good volleyball program and for the academics I'm going for in my future career."
"This is an example of when the reputation of your school and volleyball program sells itself," said head coach Brian Schaefer. "Sam doesn't have a ton of volleyball experience, but is willing to learn. With his athleticism and work ethic it won't take long for him to make huge strides on the court. We are excited that Sam came knocking on our door and he is a welcomed addition to our program."
