Oshkosh Volleyball Adds Another Key Recruit (5-19-15)
Head Coach Brian Schaefer was able to add another key component to the UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball recruiting class when Tony D'Acquisto announced that he will become a Titan in the fall of 2015. D'Acquisto is a 6-3 middle blocker from Franklin, Wisconsin.
"Tony is very new to the game of volleyball," said Schaefer. "He only started playing volleyball his junior year of high school so he has a tremendous ceiling. His passion for the game, his work ethic and his athleticism will make him a valuable member of our team. I am excited to see how quickly he becomes a dominating middle blocker."
D'Acquisto played high school volleyball for head coach Chris Dibb at Franklin High School where he helped his team to the Southeastern Conference title his senior year. In his first year as a Saber he was named the team's most improved player. This past winter he played for the Muskego Stars club team under the direction of head coach Pat Starken.
Tony is the son of Tony and Shari D'Acquisto and will study business at UW-Oshkosh. He has achieved honor roll status his freshmen, sophomore and junior year and his senior year in the classroom he obtained high honor roll accolades. Earlier in his high school career he also played basketball and baseball.
"I selected UW-Oshkosh over other schools because of four factors that stood out to me," said D'Acquisto. "UW-Oshkosh has a very strong business program, the volleyball team is a national power, I have a lot of friends I know on the team and at the school and the campus and coaches were very welcoming. I can't wait to become a Titan."
