Titans Find Success in the Classroom (5-22-15)
The UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball team had another successful semester in the classroom as the Titans had 16 members achieve at least a 3.00 grade point average while attempting 12 or more credits.
Highlighting the spring semester were Erik Harke (Sr. - Kimberly) and Tony Mack (So. - Muskego) who were named to the Dean's List by achieved above a 3.75 grade point average for the semester. Harke finished the year with a perfect 4.00 in the classroom.
Named to the Honor Roll were Alex Harty (So. - Racine), Wesley Morioka (Jr. - Chicago, Ill.) and Joe Kuchler (So. - Muskego). In order to be named to the Honor Roll you need to have a grade point average between a 3.25 and 3.75.
Above a 3.00 for the semester were Jake Ahnert (Sr. - Burlington), Allen Grunert (So. - Muskego), Travis Hudson (Jr. - Wauwatosa), Noah Kern (Fr. - Middleton), Adam Landgraf (Jr. - Kenosha), Sam Moua (So. - Appleton), Sam Pedersen (So. - Muskego), Josh Preiss (Jr. - New Berlin), Andrew Shea (So. - Brookfield), Mike Wamboldt and Tyler Wiedenhoeft (Sr. - Mequon).
“I am proud of our team for not only being successful on the national scene in volleyball, but also in the classroom,” said head coach Brian Schaefer. “We had upperclassmen monitor study table to hold each teammate accountable and we will continue this with the incoming freshmen in the fall. It takes a lot of time management skills to be able to play a sport in college and earn solid grades and many of our players were able to achieve their goals this season in the classroom.”
